Black Bean Burgers with Maple Sriracha Aioli

burgers for lunch?! does anyone say no to that? ok, well they might not be beef burgers, but i love them equally tbh✨BLACK BEAN BURGERS w. MAPLE SRIRACHA AIOLI✨ I could seriously take a bath in this aioli 🛀you’ve probably seen me make it a lot, but that’s just proof that it makes everything extra amazing! 🤤 sweet & spicy are an unbeatable pair 💯 these burgers are really quite amazing without the aioli though! they are packed with yummy veggies that create the perfect bite!🍔

make these in the beginning of the week to be able to enjoy all week long. this recipe yields about 6 burgers that can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days so you can either grab one every day of the week 👏🏻 or store in your freezer for a later date! gluten free + dairy free + paleo + vegetarian + delicious = another winning combo 🙌🏻

WHAT YOU NEED for BURGERS 🍔 (makes 6):

▫️1 can organic black beans, unsalted

▫️1 roasted red pepper, chopped

▫️1/2 cup green chilies

▫️1 sauted onion (1/2 for burgers 1/2 for toppings)

▫️1 egg

▫️1/2 cup oat flour

▫️1/3 cup almond flour

▫️1 tsp garlic powder

▫️1/2 tsp black pepper

▫️1/4 tsp himalayan pink salt

▫️2 tbsp. avocado oil

.

WHAT YOU NEED for MAPLE SRIRACHA AIOLI:

▫️1/4 cup @primalkitchenfoods avocado oil mayo

▫️2 tbsp pure maple syrup

▫️2 tsp sriracha (+ extra for a spicer feel)

▫️1/2 tsp garlic powder

HOW TO:

  1. Heat 1 tbsp avocado oil in a medium sauce pan and carmalize your onions. Takes about 5-7 minutes. Set half aside for burger toppings and chop the other half to mix in with your black bean burgers.

  2. Rinse & drain your black beans and move to a large bowl. Using a fork, mash your beans. You can also lay down a piece of parchment paper and lay your drained beans on top. Put another piece of parchment paper on top and use your hands to crush the black beans. Keep in mind that you don’t want them all to be mush. Having some pieces of beans is key!

  3. Next add remaining ingredients to bowl and mix with a fork. Set aside in fridge for about 20 minutes to let it set.

  4. While burger mixture is setting, make your aioli. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix together. Set aside.

  5. Once burgers are set, use your hands to form about 6. Heat the remaining 1 tbsp of avocado oil in a large sauté pan. Cook burgers for about 10 minutes on each side. Once cooked, removed from skillet add to a sheet pan and broil on high for about 2 minutes of each side to add a nice outside crunch! (This step is optional but I love it!)

  6. It’s time to build your burger! I love having these on a toasted ezekiel english muffin or a Dave’s burger bun! Layer with some arugula, avocado, carmelized onion, hot peppers, and my maple sriracha aioli and ENJOY!
