These are the juiciest, healthy CILANTRO SESAME TUKREY BURGERS w. an AVOCADO LIME CREMA “SAUCE” (whole 30 approved) and wrapped in collard greens & I’m in love 🥰 Burgers are so easy to make & you can do whatever you want with them which makes it so easy to switch things up! I’ve been loving wrapping them in collard greens lately in place of a bun 🍔, but you can throw them on top of a salad 🥗 or pair them with some sweet potato fries 🍟 (alexia brand is my favorite).
The sesame cilantro flavor is my new favorite combo rn too 🙌🏻 If cilantro isn’t your thing don’t let it scare you off, you can easily omit it if you want & they will still be just as tasty! Made will all paleo ingredients, these burgers are GF, DF, paleo, and whole 30 approved! I’ve been whipping them up for lunches this week & don’t want them to end!
WHAT YOU NEED FOR BURGERS:
▫️1 package organic ground turkey
▫️1 cup quinoa, cooked
▫️3 tbsp. scallions, chopped
▫️1/4 cup red onion, chopped
▫️1/4 cup cilantro, finely chopped
▫️1 tbsp. sesame seeds
▫️1 tsp. toasted sesame oil (+ 1 tbsp. for cooking)
▫️2 tsp. coconut aminos
▫️1 free range egg
▫️5 large collard greens or chard lettuce (this is your “bun”)
▫️sliced white onion for topping (optional)
.
WHAT YOU NEED FOR “SAUCE”:
▫️1 large avocado, ripe
▫️1/2 fresh squeezed lime
▫️1 tsp. garlic powder
▫️1/4 tsp. pink himalayan salt
▫️2 tbsp. cilantro, finely chopped
▫️1 tbsp. scallions, chopped
▫️1 tbsp. coconut aminos
▫️1 tsp. toasted sesame oil
HOW TO:
In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients for turkey burger using a fork. Once fully combined, use your hands to form 4-5 burgers (I usually make 5 for the week).
Next, warm a medium sauté pan with 1 tbsp. sesame oil on medium heat. I cook the burgers right before I want to eat them - meaning I don’t cook them all at the same time since I usually eat them for lunch throughout the week, but you can if you want! Store the extra burgers in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Place your burger on the heated sauté pan and let cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side. NOTE: Use your thumb to make an indent in the center of the burger when you first drop it.
While the burger is cooking, make your sauce. (The sauce should be enough for all 4-5 burgers). Blend together avocado and remaining ingredients. Set aside. Store remaining in fridge for up to 5 days.
Once the burger is cooked, wrap the burger in your collard greens or chard lettuce, top with avocado creme and white onion and ENJOY!
