Garlic Sesame Bagels

Updated: May 16, 2020

Is brunch the first thing that comes to anyone else's mind when the weekend hits? Like, oh it's Saturday, I guess I need to make myself an extra special breakfast and pour a mimosa, or is it just me?! I don't know what it is about babes and brunch, but one thing I do know is that it's a damn good way to start your morning!

These bagels are the key ingredient to any good man-wich you want to make. Whether it be a massive egg sandwich, a good old turkey BLT, or smeared with your favorite cream cheese, these bagels are a win. I mean let's be real for a second, do you know anyone who doesn't love a bagel???

These garlic sesame bagels are gluten free, dairy free, have only 7 ingredients and can be made in 30 mins! Prep time included! I never knew bagels were so easy to make until I started playing around with them. I've tried to make them a few different ways but this recipe is by far my favorite! I like to bake them on a pizza stone, but you could use a doughnut baking tray if you have one, or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

What You'll Need:

(makes 4 small-medium size bagels)

- 1 1/4 cup oat flour

- 1/4 cup almond flour

- 2 tsp baking powder

- dash pink Himalayan salt

- 2 tsp fresh garlic, chopped

- 1 egg + 1 for an egg wash

- 1/2 cup almond milk Greek yogurt

- sesame seeds and minced onion for the top

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

2. In a medium bowl, combine oat flour, almond flour, baking powder, salt, fresh garlic, an egg and you Greek yogurt. Mix well until a dough begins to form. If the dough is too sticky, add more flour until it reaches a comfortable consistency.

3. Sprinkle oat flour on a clean, dry surface and knead the dough for 3-5 minutes. Form the dough into a large ball and cut the dough into 4 pieces, rolling each piece into a bagel shape.

4. In a small bowl, beat your extra egg and wash gently over the bagels. Top with sesame seeds and a little minced onion.

5. Bake for 22 minutes. ENJOY!
